Local car rent agency in Canarian Islands.

We were totally satisfied with our experience with Cicar during this trip:

• No requirement to pay by credit card. I paid by a regular debit card, could even use cash.
• Good insurance policy covering almost all by default, except of tires (need to read more). So the return was instant, and the rent contract was closed right when I left the car in the garage and dropped the key.
• Technically car was in the excellent state, despite on scratches and dents. Suspension, engine, transmission, breaks - all that was needed to enjoy serpantine driving, was good.

A few notes about the model. We rented Opel Corsa with automatic transmission, looks like it was a kind of DSG. Despite on kicking when stopped at a traffic light, during driving, it was perfect. Recommend for active driving, and cannot even try to compare with say a mechanical Renault Clio that I drove in my early ages.

However, for confident driving, I would recommend renting something a bit higher like VW T-Roc, with bigger clearance and better ability to go off the road, to overcome typically high curb and stay on the side, under Canarian pinetrees. Scraping your car’s belly sounds not very pleasant.
